Hi Gary and All

I'd suggest 30 min sessions are a sound idea. Apart from prizegiving assessment etc, it gives a regular opportunity to stop all movement and deal with very stuck vehicles or safety issues that crop up throughout the day. I for one wouldn't want to be floundering around in deep mud trying to secure a tow strop to someone's slop covered street vehicle not fitted with proper recovery hooks while random adrenalin pumped novices are tearing around me not realising their brakes have no traction either...
If you are driving, maybe take a fluro vest or wear something bright so you are very visible outside your truck whilst recovering vehicles. There's likely to be a number of other drivers lacking the inbuilt safety awareness that comes with a bit of 4x4 club membership or similar.
Mudfest is a great concept, so playing our part to keep it major incident free means we can do it again next year and beyond.
Cheers - Brett W

Thats a very good point about vechile recovery . The thought of a Shiny buried up to sills in a bog and flying tow hooks / Shakles from snatching gives me the shivers.

What is the official stand on vechile mounted recovery points? will these be checked at Vechile inspection time, before people go and get themselves buried in the tank traps.

Secondally who will be performing vechile recoveries? personally I am very picky when its comes to who I will let hook up to my truck and recover me . Some drivers are just to abusive in their recovery technique.
