As has already been said thanks to Steve, Tony, Warren, Calvin, Auck 4wd club, woodhill forest, Roger, sponsors and everyone else that organised the event, cut tracks, ran everything and made it all happen and congrats to all you lexus hilux boys that won :D

it was a long way to go for the event and I couldnt have done it without the help from of a number of the wellington guys to get my truck up there and paticularly mudnutz that loaned me his trailer and Froggie that dragged my cruiser behind his overheating truck for 26 hours to get me there and back. The whole trip including a bit of truck prep, fuel, expences etc burnt about a $2k hole in my pocket but it was money well spent :D The truck was reliable and survived the event, the only mechanical problem other than the SD card filling up and the camera battery going flat was a squeaky fan belt untill the bog beside the hub filled my radiator with mud about 1pm Saturday :x

Feedback
It was a well organised and run fun event, tracks were awesome, heaps of cool driving with a few challenges thrown in to each track to make it interesting without being ball breakers or truck breakers :x :D The tracks were set well not too long and not too short and everyone was cool to drive. The night stages and going right through the night was farking awesome, we were only running on 2 1/2 hours sleep before the event after towing the truck up from wellington and recognised fatigue setting in around 5am and dissapeared off for a feed and a couple of hours sleep before resuming. Stage 3 with the long steep winch probably turned out being the favourite stage, after initally arriving at the bottom with a pretty hot truck I wasnt too keen on boiling its tits off winching up it but by the time the first two trucks got up with a cooked winch motor and and a jammed up cable my truck was stone cold and climbed straight up with 2 single line pulls :D I think my co-driver enjoyed the event as much as I did and wasnt shy leaping out the window and straight into the mud pools to set the winch right through the night and into the next morning... thanks for a top job nursey

Thanks to the Norwest Club guys that brought along the spare spark arresters and loaned them to those of us that didnt have any  :D

If you want to know the significance of this photo this is how Jerry follows the GPS down SH1 from Auckland to Wellington

As I have been on the receiving end of this type of thing in the past, I still have to mention it...

Where is your winch dampener? You should always have one even if it is only a small pull, there are two winches in this vid that you don't have it on, one would have thought with the experience that you have in challenges/club trips that you would have one on...

hey did your co-driver end up with the 4wdbits dampener we won in our prize pack coz I never saw him use one throughout the whole comp :P :D

Hey Steve, whens the wet season version planed?

We all had such a kick ass time at the last one we're itching to fix the trucks and do it all again!

Hopefully the Toyota's in our team will last the distance.... :D
