The truck is STILL at the Auto sparkys.
It'll be next week till it's a runner again. What a performance.
He found a broken wire in the loom right behind the motor which was causing the fuel pump to cut out. But that may have caused other problems.

Ah well.
On a brighter note.
Me side bars and guards are all shiny and done. yeah yeah they need to be on a truck an have mud on em to look the part.
But I'm really happy how they turned out. The anodized alloy tread plate looks great. 8)

I'm thinking of ditching the cammo paint job and go for plain old gloss black. Being gloss you'll see the scratches easier.

Thought about getting the whole thing rewired? You've added alot of extra wires to the truck along the way with the engine and all it's bits, Mega spotlights and the various other "bling" bits we all add to our trucks.

it is funny.
But HRN know how much they cost me, so they are treating them as new items.

If he scratches them putting them back on I'll be asking for a discount.

yeah I have Jase.
I have thought about getting a purpose made loom for the truck. The loom in it now seems dodgy. But that's no surprise. The outfit that made the loom up not to mention the people who repowered it were dodgy AS!!

Its is more of a show truck rather than a 4 wheel drive.

Real 4 wheel drives don't worry about paint or stickers

I said to Janet this will get a few bites.

Couldn't help myself when i saw the protection on the ground, you have seen my truck and I doubt there is a more dented truck.

I'm am the other extreme. people have said to me over the years ,Why dont you have a personalized plate, Why dont you have any stickers.

My Answer is "HOW DOES THAT MAKE A TRUCK PERFORM BETTER"

Thats just me

Don't take me too seriously Pete

(cracks another Radler)

Well Jerry.

it would be good to have a purpose made harness for our machines. Water proof, tough, one that simply intergrates with the original/stock one.

can get premade Link looms, i've seen them on TM for 2500+ but yours might me a bit cheaper since you 40 only has 5 wires in the whole loom

Good news.

Finally, this afternoon she kicked into life again. :D
All the sensors checked out ok.

The problem turned out to be where the harness had a sharp bend in it breaking the power feed to the fuel pump.
All other wires have been checked and the bend is not so harsh.

Just some extra bar work to added to the roll cage so I can have a PRS fitted in the roof and it'll be just about done.

Forget all that drinking stuff, just gets every one sidetracked, the more you drink the worse it gets - just concentrate on getting the truck mobile again. :D

Come out on the Gary/Okuku trip on the 16th to start breaking the bars in, there (should be) no need to use them on banks, just a bit of bush and branches. (But you never know what some divers might find - I ended having to winch off sitting on my springs and chassis because I didn't check a section of track before proceeding down a washout  )
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.
