Me brother has just had the 16 X 17m concrete pad laid next to the barn today. Just a small degree of a run off added for rain, but it's been made with mind set to burn rubber.
But yeah, really, it's just a work area off the barn. Not a burnout pad.

Man it's looking good!! A week from now!!! Rubber burning time.
I'll be throwing up plenty of youtube vid. Some of the Cruiser smoking up for sure.

It has to be done.

Some friends of friends had their burnout pad shut down by the council last year. But theirs wasn't used for anything else because of it's location. It used to be an annual event.
Now the location of this pad? The council won't be able to shut this sucker down. It's work area. A four bay lean2 is being erected opposite the barn at the edge of the pad.

Concrete Pad Party coming up. :D

I sheared the hub off the axle.

Had to tack on a bit steel to pull it out.

So if anyone has a spare right hand rear axle in Chch I'd be happy to pay you good money for it.
Cheers.

Good point.
Something extra for me to watchout for.

I was as brief as I could welding. I didn't want to heat up the axle seal.

good stuff pete

i would of put ur earth onto the piece of steel you are using as a puller to avoid the bearing issue

plus the chance of it arcing the axle to the spider gear

but yeah there was a fella in chch selling a complete full floater on trademe maybe worth a shot

hi Gary.
$450 each mate. Included powder coating/fitting/balancing. But if you supplied the rims it would be cheaper.
Rick at 4X4 ACC sorted them out for us.

Took my truck round to the Cert fella Wayne Martin today. He said it was to loud. So I'll have to change the pipes again.
The wheel spacers I had made up are 3 mm to thick. They're 30mm. Legal limit is 27mm. I was also told to remove the 6 spots inside the cab while on the road. That's only because they are a safety issue to the passages traveling in the back. I should know, the kids complain about them. :D
But apart from that everything else looked sweet as!
