There is still room for entries for the annual 4WD Safari organised by the Te Awamutu Rotary Club. This event is a major fundraiser for the Te Awamutu Rotary Club and it benefits communities in the wider Te Awamutu District.

This event is a 4WD tag-along adventure journey designed for ‘shiny’ 4WD vehicles, travelling in pristine farmland, bush and beach areas of the Kawhia area. The description ‘shiny’ vehicles denotes the typical road going 4wd vehicle, equipped with a transfer case (engaging low ratio) that is not normally used in used in specialist ‘bush and bash’ events but can get dirty. Bush and bash vehicles are welcome to participate too. Tag-along means that participants can traverse the route at their own speed with the help of route arrows and a route map but there will be a lead vehicle and a ‘tail end Charlie’. There will be the added assistance of a team of specialist tow vehicles dispersed along the route.

The course has already been set for wet or dry weather, on farm, bush, forest and beach tracks that have not been used by this event before.

This event is a stunner! It uses private land, landowners allowing access to raise funds for their community. The country to be seen is normally hidden from public view but is accessible to entrants in this event. You will not be disappointed.
