From what I see the co-driver is used more for moveable ballast than any sort of fiddle brakes and you can stop, reverse and try as many times as you like!!

When it rolls I suppose he is just meant to jump off? And cleverly avoid getting crushed! Makes me wonder why bother wearing a helmet.....
