84 xl250 sticking in first

my xl250 is sticking in first gear, pulled her down tonight and cant really see antrhing wrong with it, anyone know any common faults with these bikes?

its a honda best thing to do would be bin it and buy a KTM

but if thats not your cup of soup, check the selector linkage and shaft. have you pulled the gear box out ? could be a notched selector in the gear cluster.

but buy a KTM and you will be sweet

yea mate gearbox is out, shift worm seems fine, it has no problem going into netural and 2nd on the bench when its apart, so yea i just gota have a better look im thinkn, and nah first bike ant quite ready for a fast one yet
