dont hear of many v6 vitaras being used for offroaders etc, why??? just thinking of buying one as maybe a future project. what they like or are the 1.6 engines better/ simpler i suppose and easy to work on..

they have no torque but rev really nicely so you need to get a manual one,i was offered a damaged one but i like the basic 1.6 efi motor as they seem to be bullet proof, still the v6 would sound nice bouncing off the limiter in the bush .

and alot of things about them are a fraction different and the v6s are less common, new front discs for a 4cyl is around $50 and new front discs for a v6 are about $215 so thats the sorta difference, but when they start to rev they keep going, they sound mint

The biggest difference is: 1600 = $400 for a cambelt/idlers/gaskets etc.; V6 = $2,000 for camchains/idlers etc. and they do go regularly unless you use really good lubricants, and change frequently.
