g13b twin cam out of a swift. They seem to go well. Rexo may even sell you one for a bottle of kahlua

wont bolt up but a 20 valve 4age would be good , they are cheap and bullet proof.

Cant think of anything that will bolt up other than what you have already done.

Anything the boyracers dont want is good though. eg non turbo sr20de, non turbo ca18de, 4age (getting harder to rwd boxs for) or for older stuff the corolla 4K or nissan A15 or sim.

Most have been done. Bonus of the first lot is the boy racers pull them to put turbo versions in so you can get them with all the bits cheapish.

Cheapist/easyist would prob be another g16.

You seem to have worse luck than I do with this sort of thing. A rebuild might be a plan. At least you will know what you got.

I have got a 4age (just need to finish wiring in mine) but from what i've heard their possibly not the best motor offroad as they lack the lowdown torque and like to rev... so haha i guess it depends on your driving style but yeh just a thought...
(and have heard not extremely waterproof either)

i would say the G13b GTi 1300 t/c 100kw (?) bloody good little motors ( i used to have a swift GTi., bloody good car).. sure they rev lots 8000 redline factory, but just the thing in a little zuki!!!!
