Gauges go dead when lights are on

I have recently started experiencing the bottom guages going dead on my 3000 V6 Pajero (voltage, oil and vacuum) when the lights are turned on.
I had the battery tested, because the battery goes flat in 10 minutes if the radio or aircon are left on. But the battery tested ok, and it seems to be charging ok.
Anyone have an idea as to what might be the cause?
