LN61 2LT rough starting

Hi all,
My truck seems to be getting a bit worse at starting in the mornings.
Basically what happens, is when its been sitting over night, or for a longer perioud of time than around 8 hours, and i go to start it up- its rough as guts.
It will blow a large plume of black/grey smoke out the back and it feels like its not running properly on all 4 cylinders.
By this, i mean it is firing on all four, but one or two feel like they dont get enough fuel or something.
After giving it a rev, it comes fine and will run ok.
Am going to go get a compression tester today and new filters etc.
Injector pump is timed properly...
Any ideas?
