hey im after a alternator for a diesel gq

Took my truck to coast in the weekend and did 5 min 4wding and lost brakes found that vacuum pump was shagged and has stripped theshaft that comes out the back of the alternator and into the vac pump. Can that be replaced or do i need to change the whole alt? If so who got one theyd part with. Thanks

If you can get the rotor assembly out, I've got a spare one here, and pump.

Ive got a spare one here too i bought this one off you round five months ago so ive got my old one which had a good vac pump so i can take out the damaged shaft and replace it with old one and old vac pump? by the way did you sort some drop boxes mate

Should be able to strip it down and replace the shaft, but someone else may be able to confirm if this is right or not. That, or take the parts needed to get the old one going from the one that just died?
Still looking for drop boxes, was using Grant Guys but not really happy with having to grind welds off to get them to fit, so looking for an alternative at this stage

im having trouble finding my old one at this stage, dammit. My mate did mine hes is a very good engineer. Give me a yell if you interested cause i could put up some pics for you. Having problems getting the rotor assembly undone at the moment.

If you hve pics, that would be great, do they mount using the 4 bolt holes the gearbox cross member use as well as the original arm mount?

I've got an alternator tat would suit you purpose. The armature which the shaft is part off is all good and the vac pump is good but I've broken another part that is not relevant to what you want to fix. All you would need to do is put the guts of this one into you alternator and problem solved.
