How to pull transfer?

Post by lanky »

I need to remove the transfer from my surf for repairs, i thought this would be an easy enough job, unbolt and remove. i looked around the web and it seems i first have to remove the trans with the transfer, and then remove the transfer. My Q is: do i really need to remove the entire trans?

Any help is much appreciated

Dunno if this is any help or not, as I haven't done a Surf, but if it is like my 'cruiser, you can do it in place....BUT you gotta strip the transfer box down. With the 'cruiser it does not matter whether you do it in place or not, the transfer box has to be stripped to get at two bolts to remove the other case from the gear box.
No matter the problem, the answer is always give it more gas.......
