ome shocks or monroe

Post by gary_in_nz »

hi, this could have gone in the shocks/drivetrain section... but anyway, i have 50mm lift springs in my swb safari and run the stock monroe shocks. trouble is i need longer ones for full articulation.

any ideas>
whats best bang for buck solution??
read somewhere on here that the ome shocks tend to heat up a bit if they are getting used?? also wondering how much a set of 4 is worth??

cheers

Did you get the LTR's? That alot of money for Standard OME's if they arent. You can get a set of 4 EFS for under $400 from 4wdbits. You can get adjustable 88 series konis for alot less than that too.

Assumed that was for pair. Either way $700 still sounds like alot to me for a set of shocks.

4 koni 88 series adjustbales cost me less than 600 and that was to suit 5 inch lift. They are a top quality shock.

I'm having the same problem at the moment, I'm not paying $185ea for standard EFS shocks, OME L series are $150 odd each, but I will look into the Koni's again I think.
Doddzee, where did you get yours? They were for sale on TM all the time a while back, but haven't seen them advertised for some time now, looked through your old build up posts but couldn't spot where you got them, but I'm sure you mentioned it in there somewhere.

Not sure where Doddzee got his Koni's from, but I was dealing with Wayne Emmerson (021 221 9322) when I was looking to get some.
