Diff Breathers

Hi all,
As you do on a Friday I raced home to work out how to extend the Diff breathers on our 92 Pajero. The rear one looks easy enough, will probably just get new tube and run it up somewhere out of the way and pop a wee filter on to stop any nasties getting back down there. No Probs

Now the front Diff breather is a different story. It appears to be a small plastic stub fitting over some sort of small metal valve, or something, then well thats about it really. Has anyone extended the front diff breather on there Gen II pajero using the existing hole etc.

Cheers

Hey Sam,

The front breather is a small stub on ours (some sort of non return valve), I think they changed the setup on your model and put a proper breather on the front diff. It seems to have s small plastic flange in there. I was hopeing not to weld anything on it but I guess we might be heading that way.

Cheers

Yes, the early diffs had some sort of dopey arrangement. From about 94 on they had a proper breather that goes right up the guard. I think the easiest way would be to take the front cover off and drill and tap a tube.

Yep I think your right NJV6. My only other thought was to get a metal version of the plastic barb that is in there at the moment. Will have to reconsider the options

Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
