OK Ladies this is the final Countdown for the Training Day.
Cost for the facility will be $35 per wagon.
Venue will be Petes Place, TeMana Rd Rotorua for the Sunday Practical
Venue for the theory will be in Tokoroa at my Classroom at Grayburn House
Saturday night people are welcome to camp at my place(plenty of room for Caravans and tents and so forth) or accommodate in Tokoroa. PM me if you want a motel booking. Saturday night we can do Beer, Bullshit and Barby at my place in Tokoroa, I'll PM directions to those who want to come.

Please add names for those that want to go and to quote mike:
I went up to the site today with Pete and it's bloody awesome all except for water hazards.... of which there are none, courtesy of the drought and of course unlike the Mainlanders we don't have a bloody great river every 2 K

However we have 150 acres of Bush and Paddock to play in with tracks everywhere of all grades... and one in particular that I'm going have a shot at in the Paj!

... and probably bend something! Woohooo!

It's an NZQA registered certification course, so you get an official piece of paper from an official type instructor, I'll let Mike explain it, he can do that a whole lot better than me.
The practical stuff is on country that has both Shiny and rough truck tracks. Which one you bring is up to you.... However the real fun stuff is going to scratch things, definitely!

Essentially this is what is covered and is a requirement for the particular nzqa unit standards
NZQA accreditation.
Cost: Free ($25 administration fee if your not on the NZQA system)
Theory followed by an exam consists of:
* Learn the various 4wd configurations which exist
* Learn about stability and dynamics when operating offroad
* Learn about different 4wd tyre characteristics in offroad conditions
* Identify hazards
* Safe techniques driving offroad
* Driving through water
* Preparing your 4wd for on-road use again after water crossings
* Trailers and offroading
Practical:
* Water crossing assesment
* driving of undulating ground
* driving on soft surfaces
* Put into practice what theory covered
Most recreational 4wders know most of what is covered through their love of the sport. You'll maybe learn something new and not necessarily from an instructor but from other experienced people on the course and at the minimum reinforce certain aspects or pass on your own knowledge. It is good way to get the unit standards and meet fellow ore members

Sure, I don't see why not but it'll cost you $35 like everyone else of course and you won't get the cert to prove what a shit hot 4 Wheeler you are ...obviously.

Hey Jase
You were the instigator of this training day and if not for for your belligerent pestering

,it might not have happened.
Fob off the Bunnie hunt (or tell them you and the Surf might be a bit late) , you can always go hunting ,but might not have the chance to do a course like this in the near future. Would be a shame to pass up the opportunity.
Plus think about the MUD

I can pick you up on my way through Vagas, for the theory in Tokoroa on Saturday.
You just need to find some one to navi for you out to Pete's place on Sunday.
Do a deal with one of your mates, for use of your Surf as a Bunnie blaster.

Jase needs a Navi so that he can drive his truck out to pete's place on sunday as he only has a Learners License.

Aiming for around 8:30 in the am. Now I know that may be a little earlier than folks from Geriatric City feel comfortable with on church day but I'm sure you'll cope.
If we're not out the front, come through the gate that's numbered 68 and then follow yer nose. We'll be on the right hand side a klick or so in. You'll see a bus and a paint ball arena in the trees on the left, we're directly opposite that. If you come to a house in the middle of a ploughed paddock, you've gone too far, that bit's for later.
Cheers

Obviously Bunnie blasting is more important that your truck

Or proper use their of
However as you sleep away a morning ,after a night of slaughtering dumb defenseless prey.
We will be endeavoring to get as much of our trucks as possible, covered in mud

Good to see you have seen the light
I have sent you a txt to your 021 number. I will be driving through Vagas early on Saturday morning(8.30-9?) to be in Tokoroa at 10. (How long will it take to get to Tokoroa from your place?)
As far as i know you will only need your truck for the practical on Sunday. Can any one confirm?

Should just need it the sunday. But will be handy to have at least one or two different trucks on the saturday for when we are looking at them.
Also does anyone have a data projector they can bring along? Would save me lugging one up from chch
Cheers
