hey there just wondering if anyone out there has or has pics of an escudo rollcage. Looking at a halfcage for the back at the moment if anyone knows of or reccomends anyone to construct one??

speak to reece at de-ranged engineering, hastings. hes doing all my fabrication work and he can make just about anything he puts his hand to.
look for his user name de-ranged and his number is on there. a very handy guy to know.

ok yea pics would be good, im in hillsborough just is anyone out there recommends one. benefits of a full cage?is a full cage needed for certain classes in trials competitions or can you get away with a half cage?

YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THE FOOTAGE OF THE TRIALS ON THE TELLY, COZ ASKING IF A HALF CAGE IS OK, IS LIKE ASKING IF YOU CAN STILL FUNCTION WITH HALF A BRAIN.

full cage would be best but i find halfs enough for what i want to do, its still going to cave the front but not my head, plus it gives you some where to mount belts to.vaughan

NO, you need a minimum 6 point cage and main hoop must be chassis mounted.

if you are in a club, then ask somebody who has trialed for a look at the rule book or you can get hold on one on the http://www.nzfwda.org.nz website.

half cage is fine for the laurie sanson series around auck.

Another place is Performance Metalworks http://www.pmw.co.nz/ up in silverdale (about 25mins north of the city) their involved in 4wding so will know the specs...

6 point yes but the cage can now be body mounted as long as the plates to the body meet the specs

Will need it certed then for a 6pt rollcage too (4pt your don't need cert as long as there is no rear seats) or if you could come up with a internal 4pt in rear for crossbracing etc, and then an external for front coming down into sills etc then it would probably not need cert (and provide more head room)... (but your muds tyres and lift still should)...

Another thing to think about is when you have a internal 6pt cage ideally you should also have harnesses and decent seats, as there is a high likelihood of smacking your head on the cage, as normal seatbelts allow more movement... (yes i know there is lots of regulations as to the frontal A zone etc etc but from what i've heard and seen even without a cage you stand a good chance of smacking your head against something). There was a case a while back (may have been in NZ) where guy rolled and died, and it is thought that he hit his head on the cage and killed him...

Just something to think about if its a daily driver
