Having A Stand alone Vacuum Pump???

my vacuum pump is gone burger!! does anyone know of a way of having a stand alone vacuum pump because my altenator is charging sweet!!

any ideas?? this would help alot of people if there was sumthing availiable?

does anyone have a 4jb1 2.8 diesel mu alternator or a toyota one simalar?
SASed Isuzu Mu - hilux diffs, Rears up front, disc brake conversion, ifs hub swap, crossover steering, and legal!!!!

The vaccuum pump comes off the back. You should be able to source one from someone with a dud alternator.

There are electric ones out there, but they're not easy to find and not cheap either.

Some Toyotas have them - later model surfs and some cruisersI think? talk to Nigel at Just Cruisers in Rangiora he'll tell you which cruisers had them - probably not a huge job to squeeze one in to an Isuzu...

Nissan YD engines have them on the back end of the rocker cover, most likely driven by a cam (I'm not taking the cover off just to look).

I have just had my alternator out ...Sticking brushes ... 3 bolts hold the vacuum pump on the back and the alt shaft has a spline on the back that slides into the pump.
There is a guy in Ch-ch that has a heap of Isuzu parts and realy good prices
I will look out his info if you want.
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

hey i got one, man was it a mission to get the alternator off thr bolts were torqued to about 2000ft pounds lol, still having trouble though so need to try the vaume line and also the brake booster!
