Ranting ???

Post by DJ »

Hi all
I enjoy ORE site and read most posts and try to add bits here there when I can or want, mostly in jest. This is a well run and read site by just about everyone in NZ 4wding. And collectively a very strong voice if we pull in the same direction. We need to get behind and repeal the walkers only access track bill ( my words ) and take alead from Peter Vahry's direction as I can see access being denided to all but a selected few. How we do that as a group I dont know or if its what peps want, but I think its time to stand up and tell those that want to have a job after the elections how we? feel.
I see every other club in NZ listed in mags and web sites but not us, can some one in the ORE management send our details to them to be included?
cheers

Might be worth remembering that ORE as an organisation is affiliated to the NZ4WDA and so is already represented in the ways you mention. The best way to assist at the moment would be by visiting and completing Peter Vahry's online survey - subject of another thread in here under "events".

The other thing which might be worth considering before posting in this forum is that this Forum is open to the public and as such can be and probably is read by anyone from any group in the country who might have an axe to grind against sharing the off road environment with 4x4s and want to find ammunition. Whatever you say in here can be used as evidence against you...... and against all of us as a group. Not that there's any such problem with your thread of course.

yes done that but feel that more can be done as a collective group. Because this Bill could in its present form almost kill 4wd, as we know it,reguarding access, we should be doing more??

We could all meet in Pahiatua then drive to Wellington and attempt to drive up parliament's steps like the farmers did and it worked for them. We'd have to have something to hand them at Parliament though to make it real.

How about collecting dirt samples from all the tracks and presenting it mounted to something (like they did for the Rugby World Cup)

What are other user groups doing to address this? Surely, we are not the only non-walking users of the tracks.
