Hi Team,

Right for those of you who have completed a body lift on your Gen 2 Pajero, I just need a few things clarrified. I am working through the list of instructions I got with the kit and just need to confirm the following.

Instruction: loosen the steering adjuster on steering column.
Is this the unit that is accessible from the engine side of the firewall and close to the firewall?

Instruction: Remove radiator shroud.
Now I believe this is different for each model, we have a Gen 2 SWB 3.0 V6 auto. Does anyone know if I need to remove the radiator etc. I have loosened the shroud but left it sitting on the fan. Will I have to remove the radiator completely or can I do everything I need to and leave the radiator in place?

Cheers

HI,

The steering shaft - loosen it at the steering box is easiest. It actualy doesn't need to be loosened it as it has a slip joint in it but peace of mind - loosen it.

The radiator shroud - do it back up - you don't even need to adjust it! :)
There is a piece on the bottom of it which unclips. Take the bash plate off and crawl under - you will see what I mean. Its on the bottom of the shround. take it off and put it in the shed - it won't go back on and is not req'd for cooling, Pajero's have very good cooling systems.

Last thing - loosen the upper 2 bolts that hold the right rear factory mud flap on as they attach to the body and the rest to the chassis. This save you from ripping the mudflap holes.

Getting the front two bolts out can be tricky - I ahd to lift it up higher and undo the mount as well so it could move freely sideways to get the silly factory bolts out.

Hope this helps

I simply cut the bolts in the front coz they were proving to be a pain...

Pretty much all done today. I will cut the rear bumper this week and fit and just a bit of cutting around the center console and we are all finished. Was actually a reasonably easy exercise once I worked out how to jiggle the front bolt out. Other than that the rest was a breeze.

Now I get to go shopping for some 33's. 8)

Cheers

Don't think we lifted it enough for those. Did you see any 33's floating around down there?
