Hi all you guys,
Im wondering if any of you that own or have owned GQ safari/patrols have ever had any probs with the front end being very twitchy when hitting slight bumps on the road and then translating to a very very harsh vibration shudder through to the steering wheel and its so bad you cant actually drive out of the shudder you have to slow down untill it stops and thats usually down to around 20-30kms, Its the same kind of thing that can happen when your wheels are full of mud and the ballance is upset but all my wheels are ballanced etc, Ive heard worn Panhard bushes can cause the same kind of thing but i have Nolathane bushes in my panhard rod that are in ok condition and starting to wear but nothing too much, ive got a good working steering damper fitted to.
Any ideas guys.??
Cheers Hayden.

Have your front rims checked to see if they are true, this shimy is common with a wheel balance or tracking issue.
I get this big time on my LWB GQ, if i have lumps of mud in the rims after being off road but i ussaly find I can drive over or under it until I get home to clean up.
Is your truck lifted, if so how much has the front axle rolled ?
Just keep looking you will find something eventually.
Good Luck
