Not sure if this has been asked before or not but anyway...

Just wondering if anyone knows if its possible to raise the rear of a Mu by placing the leafs on top of the axle.
Been told different stories. Want to know what you guys think...

If you do this you will be driving around downhill everywhere as without drastic work you'll struggle to get the front to match.

Not if you do a few simple little mods to the front as well - like getting rid of everything and putting an axle under it

Have a look here - you can see the lift the SAS gave the front of mine, and then you can see the spring-over and some extended shackles nearly levelled it again... which should give you an idea of the amount of lift a spring-over will give you to deal with.

Dont mind about the difference in height, that can be fixed. Just want to know if it can be done without any serious problems...

Supralux, Solid front sounds good, any ideas on prices? Do ya use a hilux front axle?

Just to clarify, it kind of was answered - and the serious problems were pointed out - the truck will sit 5-6" higher in the back, which is well outside of the scope of Isuzu IFS setups to resolve without serious engineering. Other than that you should be fine.

As to the IFS swap - $5k, and yes it uses a Hilux axle - its a very time and engineering intensive exercise. Its something you would really have to want. Alternatively I can sell you my 96 mu body/chassis which is certified for a 3.1 and SAS (as shown) but currently has no motor/box or axles fitted...

Yeah true, Bit of a shame really, considering it doesn't look like it would be hard to throw the leafs on top.

That chassis and body sounds like a fun little project though. Rip the 3.1 out of mine and put it in that, get some axles and away laughing?... How much did ya want for that?

Just throwing ideas around.

Probably let it go for $2000... reg on hold, cert plate on it for everything and its a facelift interior model (Wizard interior)... just throw your motor/box into it - I'll give you the adaptors and driveshafts for it... just need some hilux axles, Isuzu springs in the back and hilux rear springs in the front and you're away...

Does that include the 36 simexs lmao, woula a 2.8 fit easy i hate 3.1 had three mates blow them up

I'll leave you to figure out if that includes Simexes... do the maths, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out

Yep, I wouldn't think a 2.8 would be a problem to fit...
