Holden 3.8 into Toyota Surf

Post by suzolla »

Hi, I am looking at doing this conversion plus like the idea of an auto behind it and have some questions.
1. Has anyone fitted or know of fitting the 3.8 with its own auto, how was the transfer box mated to the g/box. I have access to welding and machining if required.
2. If the holden auto box can not be used what auto box can be used.
3. Can the holden or other auto box handle being at extreme angles such as when rock crawling as compared with a manual box.
4. Would the 2.4 diesel radiator be sufficient for cooling, if not what is commonly used.
5. If anyone has any photos of their instal that would be great.
Any comments suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Tim
