Hello, I have a friend (Chinese, X home stay student of ours) who has bought a motorbike that needs some mechanical repairs done to it.
Here is his description of the problem.

I brought a 1990 Suzuki RGV 250 2 strokes sports bike. (Got my Learn licence last month) It has been put in the garage about 9 years. I guy came to look the bike other day recommend me to rebuild the carby. Apparently one cylinder breath more smoke than the other and the bike sort of doesn't have full power on it.(PS It got a few work need to be done before put back on the road) Anyway please if you can find out how much that will cost to rebuild the carby, that will be super :-)

Is there anyone here in the Chch area that may be able to help him please?

rgv,s are known for dropping powervalves, they break and drop off into cylinder and u can imagine the mess it makes when piston contacts something thats around 25mm thick.

they seize, nornally top cylinder, drop rings and do lots of good 2stroke stuff.
chrome bore, can,t bore

Thanks, but this really does not do much to help us in this instance, does it? As stated, he has already bought the bike.
