Costa Plenty

Post by wisard2 »

I have just rung and spoken with Goldie (Lauri) who owns Costa Plenty up on top of the Puketois. His park is open all year round reguardless of weather.

The hut, although not finished to date, is all covered in, has mattresses, gas cooker, generator and sleeps about 12. $10.00 per person per night.

The park as such is $20.00 per vehicle per day. Although he has several bookings over the next 3 months, most dates are still available. Minimum is 3 vehicles, 2 of which must have winches.

It is a good full day up there with a variety of terrain and plenty of bog holes (Taz & Badnuz) and is definately worth a visit.

If there is the interest, and and a tenitive date set, I will ring Goldie and check to see if that day/weekend is available.

If this trip was organised for a Sunday, and any of the Welly guys wanted to come through on the saturday arvo/night, my place is available for camping, ie; spare bedroom (2 beds), 2 couches (1 double) and plenty of floor space inside and tent space on the lawn. I am about 25 minutes away from Costa Plenty. :D

Do they have LPG or would I have to fill in Palmy and would I be able to get back to refill?

I'll ring Goldie later today when I get up and see if we are sweet for Sunday 29th June. My place is available for sleepovers on the Saturday night for those keen to come through, and I'll check if there is LPG at the gas station in either Pahiatua or Woodville Bubba and get back to you.

Bubba, have just rung both PB Pahiatua and Caltex Woodville and they both have vehicle LPG.

I have just spoken with Sue, (Costa Plenty) but she was away from home (mobile phone). She is pretty sure 29th of this month is available, but is going to ring me tonight when she gets home and checks her diary and confirm. I will update this tomorrow after I have heard from her.

Kiddie friendly????? Plenty of mud for them to play in and scrub to get lost in????? Otherwise don't think so. 8) :D

Plenty of room to park it up at my place and it's on the way to & from Costa Plenty. I live down Jackson Road at Woodville (turn into Oringi Road by the Oringi freezing works).

Costa Pleny has now been booked for ORE for Sunday 29th June (third Sunday from now). We need a minimum of 3 vehicles, 2 of which must have winches (mine will be one).

As mentioned earlier in the thread, anyone is welcome to crash down at my place on the Saturday night just out of Woodville. Plenty of inside room, plenty of parking (I'm rural), and about 25 minutes to Costa Plenty the next morning. We could perhaps have a bbq Saturday night and drinks?????

Anyone wanting to come through Saturday arvo/night to stay, PM me for directions and contact number. :D
