this guy overtook me going up the rimutakas on a little 250 with skinny back wheel and a nervous looking rider in brand new gear.
he was twitchy and sitting awkwardly.
going down the other side I was behind him when he was following a ute who pulled over to let us past, but the rider didn't get away from me.
he was getting twitchy on the tight corners and looked very scary, so I backed off and gave him some room.
then the big boys on thier superbikes caught up and slotted in between us.
I thought they would smoke him but instead, one of them rode up beside him and starting talking and making hand signals about how to lay the bike over further in the corners rather than steer it like he was doing, then he said watch me and went ahead of him and lay his own bike right over like an experienced rider.
then he fell back and chatted to him some more before pulling away on his back wheel.
his 3 mates went past too......
first mate goes past on the back wheel whilst waving to the learner, second mate goes past at a million miles an hour waving and then the third mate starting moving around on his bike a little and then at the next straight he goes past the learner whilst standing up and pulling a faaaarkin big wheelie at the same time.
I was impressed and I'm fairly sure the poor learner dude was thinking that one day he too could play with the big boys.
