i brought a injector pump off trade me was told it was a rebult one (yea right ) took it to a guy who told me he new what to do
the new pump dident work had no flow
when the old one was put back on just to get it going it is now hard to start and blows a lot of white smoke till it warms up and seems to have lost power
could it be the injector timimg wrong ?
or a air leek or somthing
anny help would be good thanks

Re: pajero needs help
I am guessing by the fact that it runs at all, you have bled the air out of the lines to the injectors.
I had this problem and the first thing to check is the timing belt - 1 tooth out will do that every time.
if you are sure that the belt is right then its time to look at the pump.
Did you mark the position of the original pump before you took it off ?
I belive that most pumps are timed by rotating the pump in its mount.
My Isuzu and Toyota plus a Mazda Bongo van I used to own all use this method.
They need a special dial gauge to set them up properly but if you are taking one off to do something to the motor, you can get it pretty close if you accurately mark its position before you remove it.
The last time I had mine off and put it back on its mark my friendly diesel mechanic checked it and it was within range as there a few degrees tolerance.
if you have not marked it and the motor is dirty you will be able to see where it was sitting, move it to there.
Other wise it is time to see your friendly diesel mechanic to get it set up right.
I hope this helps.

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.
Re: pajero needs help
Hard starting, white smoke and low power all fit with the timing too far retarded.
Re: pajero needs help
Pajero's have marks on the front of the block, make sure that all the pulley dot's line up with the marks on the block and you will find it will run better, easy to get it wrong as I have in the past. Solved that problem though, I brought a Nissan
