the exhaust under my cruiser is a twisty maze and im wondering how much crap gets caught up in there.so am thinking i will shorten it so it pops out in front of the rear tyre on the drivers side,My mate has done it to his cruiser and has no problems with it,what im wanting to know is how likely is it that water will go up it in deep water or will the pressure from the exhaust be enough to stop it

How much effort does it take? Very little

Your exhaust will be fine. unless you were planning on going extreeeemly deep and wearing a snorkel.

Cutting your exhaust will only make it noisier and may be a tiny power increase if its a turbo, I would have thought the height would be the same(ish) re water entry.....

The only problem you can ever get is trying to restart the vehicle when the exhaust has been submerged for a while without the engine running. The amount of water that backfeeds up the exhaust is usually related to how long you've been sunk.

I had one of my old cruisers sitting in water above the floor for about 4 Hrs once and it kept starting no probs with the whole exhaust system under water

I Hydraulic'd my old XR in about 10cm of water in the Asburton river

Lost balance & Fell off but had the thought to drop the bike intake side up.

Not a problem, picked it up and pushed to bank. Gave the starter an almighty kick and it didn't budge

Air intake still dry - water had flowed up exhaust and the exhaust valve must have been open!

Pull decompression lever - try and kick it a few times eventually it starts to move (didn't have any tools ) then away it went.

yea strait thru probly 3 inch off the turbo.i wont be in town annoying anyone ill be in the mud so no worries

uve heard mine with the straight pipe off the turbo and out the side it not that bad lol

Did you get the SOA conversion done or has the weather kept you inside

just about finished the backend just need to make the arm thing for it but its outside so the rain dont help much

sweet its going to be good fun.just be carefull at the palms or riccarton as mine hits the height beams and almost the roof.

lol my spot lights on the roof hit in drive thrws with out the SOA. I rolled it on thursday night so ive got some panel beating to do aswell
