413 Gearing

I'm running a 413 with 31inch tyres, the truck is off-road only. It's got a 410 transfer box but I want to drop the gearing further. What's the best option for least cost?? Different transfer gears (eg: rockhopper), vitara diff components, ... ???? Would appreciate advice from someone who's been down that track. Ta. :D

Vit diffs are a good option if you can find some for a reasonable price... I bought some 6.5:1 transfer gears from low range in the states, came to about NZ$600 including shipping. Very good low range, and high is good for on the road too.

i ran my 413 with 31's and a 4.16 t/case . great , loved it . Probably easier and less hassle than doing both diffs if you can find a second hand 4.15 t/case or the right 410 case to build one .

As you said your only other option is the diffs ut i don't think they go low enough and the higher the ratio , ie 5.12's , the weaker they get . not that you are likely to break any in normal to moderate 4wding . But hard out on big tyres , 33's etc , will spit them out , from what I hear .

Has the 410 box got a shift light plug on it? have you still got the stock 413 box?

Where abouts are you?

Thanx guys.
I wasn't aware the 5.12's would be weaker so that's good to know.
I have two transfer cases, one has some wires coming out of it so I guess that's the switch light. Pretty sure the one in the truck is from a 410 as it has the handbrake ???
Another plus of doing a transfer case is it's easy enough to put into a new truck. Currently have a SWB but want to change to a flatdeck truck as want a bit more room for carting gear.
Located in Gisborne and work in forestry. Currently using Hilux's with tractor tyres but have a soft spot for zuks.

Is there a website somewhere that has Suzuki transmission ratios (gearbox, transfer and diffs) for the older models?
I have spare axles, transfer etc and may build something up.
