ive seen a 1989 auto that i might be interested in.
i might go for one a bit newer but im not after spending a fortune.
are any of the terrano's around the early 90's different? i.e. ifs suspension or factory lockers/lsd etc??
cheers

i have a mate in wellington and he says his is a shocker on fuel, he's not into offroading and he used to use it on a daily basis but now cant afford too, and he cant sell it becouse people are to fuel conscious now. having said that you can buy a nice truck for little money but it will soon out weigh the cost....i had the 3.2 v6 bighorn and i am grateful i sold when i did, i follow it most mornings and everytime i see it i think i am glad i am not running it now. think carefully before you buy one becouse you will be stuck with it once you have

Look under rear seat for bad rust on pre 91 models, all the way accross the seam.

yeah, thats probably the best way of looking at it. perhaps a diesel with the better economy and resale value will make up for the ruc charges.
there are some brilliant bargains on petrols at the minute though
i think i will hang on for another few weeks at least and see what happens with the market now the higher ruc and rego charges are in place.

a good friend of mine is a smalltime car dealer and he buys trade ins from big dealerships, alot of the cars he is now getting are v8, v6, straight 6 etc etc and they are beautiful cars, he is buying them for absolutly ridiculasly low prices and he is selling them easily becouse of the low price, people just think they are getting such a bargain until they run them for a few weeks and try to sell or trade, then they realise they are worth nothing. the only real winner is the guy who just wants a v8 for sunday use etc.

If you can afford to run it go for it. They have plenty of power. Weak in the front steering though and the ECU's are under the front sdeat so if you get water in it like always did, you are in the shit.
