had my terrano auto trans serviced today

Post by muskie »

my terrano was feeling sluggish and the trans didnt feel quite right but in an un noticeable way (if you understand that) i know the 27td isnt the fastest thing in the world and will never set any records, so anyway i booked it in locally for a trans service and picked it up tonight :D i think it was the best $160 bucks i have ever spent, it is like a completely different truck, what a vast improvement, takes off so much better and changes up and down with no hesitation.. i had no idea it would make that much difference. i was going to change the oil and filter myself but repco wanted $72 for the filter and $80 for the oil and my local garage wanted $160 all in :D no contest and job done.

hehe sounds like a forklift we have at work, if it stops moving in goes 3 litres of auto trans fluid!!

Did they do the filter too...

When I booked my auto in I asked for them to replace the filter, they told me they dont normally do that, just hook the transmission up to a pup and change the fluid adjust the bands etc.

When you get your Nissan auto serviced you want the filter changed and cut the old filter aprt to see what is in it. It will give you very good warning of a pending meltdown and can save you about $2k in parts for a rebuild. This is how mine was caught so it only cost me $3k for a rebuild and upgrade ie better and more frictions and a modified torque convertor.
Auto maintenance can save ou a lot of money!!!
