i had this problem in my old saf, it was a water pipe that sprayed water on the rear window, it was a length of clear plastic pipe running from front to back. i had welded underneath and burned the pipe. the pipe runs just below fuse panel, drivers side front to back..

Could be that the old windscreen rubber is past use by. It isn't cheap but a new rubber without the steel insert is a good thing to do.

New "Aftermarket" Screen rubbers are about $140ish. But you can't use the chromes

Yeah and cause of the chips etc all over your screen you might as well claim insurance. Buy a new rubber and get them to fit it while they're replacing the screen

More likely they stuffed it getting it out!!! Insurance companies can be very hard on what they will and wont pay for when it comes to windscreens,Be careful if you think all will do it

Windscreen rubbers are normally classed as "wear and tear".

Hey
thanks all tracked it down to two things ,,,,,first was the sunroof drain pipe that runs down the inside of the drivers pillar wasnt draining to the outside but the inside

which we fixed and also replaced the window and rubber which i think was dodgey too ,,,,so got a dry truck now all good ,,,,till we get to the next big puddle

Good on you - often posts have questions but its good to also hear the end solution.
Also got a leak in my cruiser, I know its the windscreen tho as I can see the water coming in under the rubber. And all this rain lately has just kept my floor damp and kept the plants growing down beside my seat... If I don't get around to fixing it they will fall through the floor with rust

Which one of you was hounding my tail on the 9th May heading north? I also was in a Hiace heading to Picton and one of your vans was tailing me for a long time.
Let me know (PM etc) what sort of cost to deal to a screen - rubber might be shot I think or it may just need sealing up. I normally puddle around sorting that sort of stuff out myself but so far its the water puddling around in the truck...

my hilux leaked like a bastard under the dash, turned out the front (dont know what it was -box section crossmember the fresh air heater drwas from) was absolutly fecked (the floor was a little buggered also when I removed the rotting vinyl and revealed a floor that looked to have been modified with a shotgun - lots of little rusty holes.). Took off the guards and removed all the rust, repaired the steel that was there with this special rust converter stuff and painted the hell out of it.
Fixed the problem but I guess too much cowshit for too long and it had given up. Don't own it now and that was one of the reasons I sold it (not the major one but one of them).
