Going on from a previous thread, as the V6 2litre 'scuds seem to have different ratios to the 1600's, are the diff's interchangeable?
I want to put 5.12 ratio 1600 manual diffs into a V6 auto 5Dr. Will that work as a bolt-in swap?

im reasonably sure that the side gears of the diff could be different, thats why the complete cv wont fit

The side gears were swapped during the first gen run around 93 I would say at a guess . Also there are different ring gear bolt patterns but these were swapped during the first gen too . At a guess I would say late 1.6 stuff may fit . if you pulled them apart I would expect you could mix and match the two diffs to swap ratio's . Only a guess thou .

Check out http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php It'll be there somewhere. They do fit though, The guys with the 2.5 V6 Grand Vitara's ?upgrade? to them from 4.875s and to also get rid of the vaccumm operated front diff head. There will be different splines on some of the axles so you'll need to check that.

Thanks guys.
I already have some 5.12 diff's so was hoping it was going to be a simple bolt-in swap.
Unfortunately I'm dumb as a stump when it comes to diff's. I wouldn't have a clue about what's inside them, let alone how to do anything with them. Oh well, I guess I'm about to learn!
