You breaking the 5.12 R and Ps or down gearing after breaking a 4.8? Are the 5.12's susseptible to breaking?

just replacing a broken 5.12, ive broken heaps but they are weak when you srart getting rough, they dont like landing with a few revs on, thats how i broke this one at our club champs.

In general heigher ratio diffs will be weaker than there lower counter parts , its just a function of the ratio . you need more teeth on the crown wheel so they get smaller , you need less teeth on the pinion shaft meshing with the smaller crown teeth so the gear gets smaller etc .
A true test would be for Vaughan to run 4.62's for a while and see how fast he breaks those , then we can compare the time in service ( cause we know he will break it ) and work out how much stronger they are by time elapsed
