Suppose I'd better start a new thread for this

Anyway here is it.





Heres the list of thing to do so far

- Oils, plugs, Leads etc.
- Sort out dodgy wiring + wanted mods
- repair 1 drivehaft
- move compressor and move locker line
- Suspension Bushes
- temp alarm
- sort out electric fan
- replace fuel line (maybe upgrade to a High pressure one)
- Lower Shock Bushes
- tidy up panel work
- Move clutch slave cyl away from exuast
- Cambelt
- Waterpump
- 2nd Battery tray and battery
- Rebuild interior
- rear side bars
- modify rear bar
- install train horn
- install dukes of hazzard horn
- air tank
- a/c compressor
- 3 radios + stereo
- storage box

Get yaself a Internal fuel pump (High pressure as it should be)don't bother with an external as you'll get cavitation of fuel also you'll need a surge tank for it and it'l just give you problems..to run the fuel pump try to find the ecu off a SC to make it run properly as using relays works but the ecu will work best..cheers love the swap..

So what goodies has it fitted so far? You mention moving compressor and locker line. So it already has at least one locker, or does it have two?
No mention of tyre size, but you did mention selling the 33's that were one it. So what are the plans?

has 33' mudzilla's on it, not a tyre I want on a big HP truck looking at staying with 33's for now and moving to trepadors or something (with beadlocks obviously coz the wheels will be spinning faster )

I just used a Vl commodore one on the 2JZ... no surge tank needed. Couple of the 1UZ conversions down here run them too without surge tanks..

I could just patch the iffy bits and then keep breaking down and then have all of you laugh at me so I think if its off the road for 3+ months I can sort a lot of this sh#t out

Is it road drivable so you can take to Marks place on 2 August and we can kick the tyres etc?? Or are you the taxi again and taking the bus (Prado)

talking of Prado's is it a 70 or a Prado (no not a piss take, just looking at the photo it looks like a Prado)

33's for now..... not sure on 35's just yet .... it is a Cruiser Jnr , LJ71 ....a wee bit earlier than the previous POS. needs a bit of work and its not "road legal" yet, wiring and catch up maintenence is first up before it goes in for a WOF, so will probably be the Shiny Prado.

Sing out if you need a hand Jerry, I have fixed a large list of problems with my 1UZ LN130.

Wired up the factory gauges, redid a lot of the engine bay wiring etc.

I converted from 2x10in fans to a single 16in with a large cruiser 4 core radiator.

I rebuilt the starter, alternator, replaced the idler and tensioner bearings etc plus a ton of other maintenance work.

I also did a remote oil filter mount and some basic waterproofing, converted AC pump to onboard air etc.

Fuel tank is being drained this weekend , has 10-20L ??? of stale petrol in it, whats the best way of disposing of this? its not something that I want to tip down the drain etc, or can I reuse this as 2 stroke mix or something or is this something someone can use?

Usually I'd say something like it would make a good fire starter, but Please dont take me seriously and try it like my mates boy did over in wainui the other week..... his face is healing up nicely now

Just stick it in a container and it'll be usefull as a parts cleaner or something like that as you do all the repairs on the POS

Keep it and use it for cleaning parts during your maintenace mission over the next couple of months. Small quantities disposed of on the lawn or in a garden where you want to get rid of weeds is not harmfull to the environment providied it does not directly enter the storm water system.

went to BNT today and got a pile of bits...

just put new spark plugs in it and its actually starting properly and running on 8 , couldn't get them out as they kept slipping off the socket so I just shoved a wee bit of masking tape in there to pack it out. got a couple of fuel filters too, will chop out the dodgy bit tomorrow and put one in there as a temporary measure until the whole fuel fine is replaced. leads look ok but probably safer to replace them.

seems to be purring nicely now, there seems to be a small wiring fault when starting where it cuts out for half a second, and there's occasionally a very slight hesitation from idle to using the accelerator (neighbours haven't complained yet )

spotted some more bits that need tidying too , made a big list of parts I want for it and things to fix/look at.

working on it tomorrow, anyone is welcome to come over, drink beer (may have to get some beer in), talk shit, and help out. PM me if you need the address.

got the drivers door fixed this weekend, the window closes properly now, did an oil change, and coolant change and made a start on the other fluids in it. had a look at one being wrecked today and got a pile of interior bits, going back for more on Sat.

a link computer? the link pc on the rover and safari both have a pipe that goes to the inlet manifold for vacum pressure, it runs like shit without it, if thats wat ur on about?

The only issue would be overheating. I looked at fully sealing mine but decided to just mount it out of the way.

I mounted mine up behind the glovebox attached to the metal bar that supports the dash.

If I have water that high then I am in real trouble.....
