I have a 96 TX Prado which i believe has blown the dual mass flywheel. I dont really know much about these but have been told that they are no good for towing (i was towing when it happened). I have also been told that you should replace with a solid one. Can anyone help with this? What parts are needed? Also where i should buy them

Thanks

The costings are about the same, The only thing with the solid flywheel system, is that it can transfer gearbox pulsing noises when in nutral and at idle.
If your wanting to keep everthing as quite as possable go with a duel mass system and you won't be pissed off if you get this pulsing noise

Hi Nick,

I would price Toyota some times there prices are reasonable. BNT Automotive will do a dual mass, they also do a solid kit. I fitted a solid flywheel and clutch kit to my Surf It has got a bit of a rattle on idle but not enough to worry. I also tow a 15ft caravan around the South Island and I think with about 170ks the clutch and flywheel did pretty well so I wouldn't blame towing.

LET YOUR FINGERS DO THE WALKING,

FITZY.
