Hi guys,

decided its time for a real engine so will be swapping out my old engine in a couple of months :D
While its still in and running Im just wondering if anyone wants it or the turbo setup? If youre interested you can test it out.
I dont want much for any of it.

The engine will need some work eventually. its a '96 1HZ done 154ks, but I believe it has low compression on one or more cylinders, may be bent rods. About a year ago I drove it through a bog and it sucked some water into the filter and ran rough for a few minutes, then came almost right again.
At the moment it misfires for a few seconds when you start it from cold, and also misses when it is revved whilst being lightly loaded. It makes white smoke when this happens. On the motorway it runs sweet.
I was going to strip it down and fix it but it never got any worse and now Ive decided on a more serious motor.

The turbo is a CT26 from a 7MGTE Supra (same as factory landcruisers) and works great.
Some parts are well made like the exhaust side, but the rest of it is a bit rungus to be honest,
although its results that count I guess and It has good midrange torque and has never given any problems in the 5000ks its been turboed. Its composed almost entirely from peices I had lying around.
I have a Subaru water to air intercooler setup I was going to use but never got around to it.

any interest?

Cheers,
Matt

I dont think I would sell just the turbo, it would make the rest of the bits worthless. Its more usefull to someone who has a 1hz or 1pz 70 series and wants a cheap swap in kit you could do in a weekend.
I'll see what interest I get, otherwise I might keep all the hoses and fittings and bits and they'll end up on something else.

oh yeah forgot to say the sensors on the engine are 24volt, and I need to keep the alternator.

A few notes:

-The pyrometer spontaneously died :( no idea why it just made a loud bleeep and then didnt work again. a new guage should cost aboutt $100 without the thermocouple.

- That $2 boost guage is also giving up

-The turbo is a CT26 from a 3.0 supra NOT the smaller ceramic wheel version from a celica!
This version has the steel exhaust wheel. I have received info that the exhaust wheel is the same as factory landcruiser but the compressor is slightly bigger.
