why would a National Trials interfere with a club class winch challenge?

Maybe you guys should work out how much it costs to put on an event like this ,even if there budgeting for around 20 trucks they wont be making a profit ..Steve

And its over two days not just one, so $50 bucks a day isn't too bad considering

Just to give prospective event organisers out there a guide to what is involved in organising an event of this sortas "Steve" said, do the math, even if we get a full field of 20 trucks @ 100 ea, that's 2 grand (and I anit seen a full field of 20 trucks at a club winch challenge yet)
out of that off the top of my head we gotta pay for
1/ property owner
2/ toilets (2)
3/ medic-care (2 days)
4/ hire generator-and feed it
5/ feeding the marshals (because its 2 days and a night)
6/ feed everyone on Sunday
7/ Trophies
there's roughly 2k right there, not to mention all the time and effort that goes into something like this, 4 or 5 meetings, working bees, 8 or 10 key people
20-30 on the weekend
andbecause in this day and age, sponsorship for this "club" type event is far to hard to come by
Personally - I asked that they write in the rules that each competitor had to provide a helper for track setting and a marshal - luckily they don't listen to me

Can you please remind me again as to WHY WE DO IT?

monstr wrote:Can you please remind me again as to WHY WE DO IT?

Coz we like standing around in the rain and the mud getting abused by winch rope runners and watching the occasional exceptional performance or stuff up - follwed by the beer, the bar b que and the bullshit
and it sure beats watching coro street (not that there is anything gay about that)
