Heartfelt condolences to the family, it is indeed very sad to read the news. John would be dearly missed at the club meetings as well as trips. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

John will be greatly missed by all who knew him in four wheeling and aviation, both fields in which he excelled. My condolences to Pip, Jeremy, Megan and Nathan as well as his whole extended family.

Rest in peace John, we learned a lot from you.

I have been asked to form a 4Wd escort for John Walker’s funeral. I don’t have the details yet but it will probably Wednesday or Thursday morning. I would like as many winch competition trucks as possible. If you knew John and are in the Auckland area and can afford the time it would be much appreciated if you could attend.
Please contact me. president@4x4challenges.org.nz

The funeral is on Wednesday 12:30 Eastgate Christian Center, 5 Ben Lomond Cres Pakuranga

John, I am lost for words mate.

We had spent so much time together in running the winch challenges in your area, so much so that I came back from Wellington for more, just to help a great man like you. You would spend time helping everyone and that smiling face will always be remembered. Hope to catch up with you up there one day, when my candle goes out.

My condolences go out to Pip, Jeremy, Megan and Nathan as well as his whole extended family.

Rest in peace mate.

Thanks guys, your thoughts are all much appreciated.

And a big thank you to all those who supported dad over the last 5 and a half years since he was first diagnosed with cancer. He often mentioned that the 4wd events he went too was his preferred type of 'treatment' and at times he was pretty certain they did more good than the drugs the doctors prescribed.
