2LTE missing and smoking

My son has a 1992 surf 2LTE that is missing when you go to accelerate and at 50kph on the road.
It has good compressions and a new head
Any ideas

can you elaborate a bit more.
what color smoke is it putting out and when is it smoking?

It is blueish grey and seems to miss badly as you accelerate and then gets better

could be it sucking in a bit of oil either via the breather or turbo seals.
the other thing is sticky egr valve.
