Cheap bulk oil

Post by Heath »

Any one know of a place I can get reasonably priced good quailty oil (80w/90) in a 20 litre container in auckland (north shore pref).

Got to do all the fluids so I will need a bit of it.

Cheers,

Heath

Geezus man! they take like not even 1L each lol. Just buy a couple of small bottles of gear oil each time its cheap enough that way. if you bought 20L you'd never have to buy any again for the rest of your life.....or your childrens life lol providing they own a zook

Thers's no such thing as cheap oil anymore :?

The 2 best options are to find someone with a trade account that can order some for you or as the guys said wait for a supercheap 25% off discount or something like that

I remember ordering gearbox oil through my mates shell account 10 years ago and for some stupid reason the pricing was cheapest to buy the stuff in 1 litre bottles and not 4 or 20 litre containers, it was a pain in the arse changing 10 litres of gearbox and diff oil with those stupid little containers

Gearbox is about 3 litres, t-case about 1 litre and diffs about 2.5 litres (for both). so 6.5 litres means I have 2 complete swaps in the can ready for when I need them after doing the first fluid change. Yeah I know I may not need it for ages but I would rather be prepared, not to mention if I can get it cheap in bulk then why not. I figure I would use the most oil in the diffs (with leaky seals and water/mud ingress), not that I expect to swap fluids every second day but having it on hand doesnt hurt as it doesnt go off. Shit I bought 12 litres of oil for the engine cheap from super chump.

Think it was posted on the forum a while back but http://www.arfai.co.nz/ has opened up a deal they get on fuel cards for the public to enable them to get the same prices they do (normally a few cents off per L) with no fee's... and dsl at truck stops is about a 12c discount off retail. Its also a national discount (so if getting petrol in the small citys will pay the national price not the local price) and their prices only change at midnight (so if you hear of a price rise you can go fillup that day and still get the lower prices - even if the pump prices have gone up)

But in their additional member benefits they say "Shell oils at less than wholesale prices delivered free anywhere is NZ (minimum qty 4x4ltr or 12x1L)"

May be of some interest to you? discounted fuels and possibly cheap(ish) oil?
I do have all the application forms here somewhere but i just emailed them and they posted them out...

Do you have one of their cards? I got one, but the my first invoice only showed 5c/L off, not the 12c I was meant to get.
Just wanting to hear if anyone else has this problem :?

Oh, and the pin for the site is 2766

Think you have to contact shell directly for the oil prices, but at below wholesale, it must be worth it
