This is what I am looking for these for a vitara 1600 (something similar anyway). Who wants to make it for me? Hell if they are good enough there may be more want them, could be a money spinner (okay a limited money spinner, but think global)

I forgot about Jono. Although he may be too busy playing with his thunder truck. He does nice work though (as do a lot of guys on here).

Will give him a call during the week.

if you're just looking at something temporary, weld a bit of chain from the engine side of the mount to the chassis. it should stop the mounts from tearing when you're hangin upside down

Have to be big rubber bands. This is a big block zuk (1600 cc of fire breathing monster) not one of those little 1300 jobbies.

this is the best idea, alot of old v8s had a steel cable on the torque side to hold on when the mounts break, the scudo mounts are pretty strong ive never broken any quite a few rolls and thousands of on the limiter take offs which try to snap them off  .if you go with the other idea allow a bit of movement as the scudo chassis flex alot.

Might do the steel cable as a backup and look at new mounts if req'd.

Guess "the list" just got bigger.

Just to throw this out there, have read on pirate4x4 to not use plastic (nolathene etc) because they transmit alot more vibrations and dont stand up aswell. Not sure how to true it is. I used 413 rubber spring bushes on my 1uz because I already had them 8)

Yeah been hearing this for 7 years and I still fit any replacments as Nolathane, suits my style of driving better

Done both sides of the engine and also the gearbox mounts as well. The bushes are the SJ413 spring hanger bushes
Threw it of a bank 2 weeks ago from around 4 feet above ground level nothing touching the ground until it landed on the cage and bent it 32mm pipe with 4mm wall and the mounts didnt move

Another way is to get a trailing from a 5 link suspension. If you are careful you can even use the rubber bush that is already in it too.

come to think of it I have a spare trailing arm for my zuk. I could use that and then it would be all zuk still.

just remeber that the closer you put the bolt to the block, the less likely the threads are to rip out. Especially imprtant with an alloy block

Going to use the original engine mount/mount on chassis just remove the crap rubber square and 'just' add the bush section instead. Should be within a few MM of the original size so no probs with height change etc.

What did you mean by "just remember that the closer you put the bolt to the block, the less likely the threads are to rip out. Especially important with an alloy block".

I am using all the original mounting points so I should be right, shouldnt I?

yep you should be, its just the further away from the block you have the bolt (that goes through the bush) the more likely hood there is of it ripping out of the block or so Ive been told. Ive done all mine with that in mind anyway
