Which part of the country are you in?
There was a mad run of this a couple of years back. People were targeting garages in South Canterbury. They seemed to be pretty professional.
Sucks that it's taking advantage of people's trust in their neighbourhood. So many people in rural areas leave garages unlocked or windows open and then get some loser ruining it for them. Sad.

Its not uncommon for them to wait 6 weeks and come back for the replacements
If you replace the bikes it dosent hurt to store them somewhere else for a while

ps. i wouldnt leave here for anything, invers rockscheap houses, crappy weather, great 4wding and bucket loads of money to be made here

Small buckets
10c coins

In property its a good market. If I was looking at extending my portfolio outside this area I'd consider there

Sorry to hear about the theft Karam.
But Please - no more promoting Southland, its just great as it is.

We don't want outside investors who are too soft to live here

Or more people that might cause me to have to stop at a give way one day

went and had a look at one of them today, all our bikes are chained to the ground using high tensile chain, they definitely tried but gave up, last year when they got our bikes was around 25k, this time i would say, 8 to 10k

we used to have a pitbull, got rid of that a few years ago, it was just like having a loaded gun walking around the house, they cut the locks with bolt cutters, as they say, you can only kkeep an honest theif out

Decent door with a shielded lock and if possible an in-door type lock ( deadbolt style )
Also throw in an alarm to let everyone know whats going on.
Yes you are right you will never stop these wankers especially when you have something that is easy to sell ... and there are wankers that are willing to buy stuff that on price alone has to have been stolen
It's all about making it harder and increasing the chance of them getting caught .
