ARB fitting help

Post by tpft »

just picked up a s/hand ARB bull/winch bar and rear bar and sides for a safari off trade me.
basically s/hand with a big bag of bolts...good fun!!!!

Anyway rh side bolted up to the rh chassis rail no promblems using origanal captive nuts that were inside rail.
lh side only some of the holes line up, plus they just holes, no nuts on inside of rail, and they don,t go all the way threw??

anyone got a set of instructions for thease or know if perhaps i,m missing a captive nut plate or something that should have come with bar?
95 Safari on brg 33,s/ 4age e class zuk (old faithfull)/ d class rig under construction.

Id say you should have a captive nut plate..the old aliarc bar i pulled off mine just had a home made one, bit of rusty plate with the nuts tacked on..my new bar came with a fancy stainless one with a rod welded to it to hold onto it. So you could probably make something up easy enough. Id say your ARB mounts would be similar to my TJM mounts. Should be three holes on the left as well, exact opposite of the right.
RH side has factory captive nuts same as yours..think this is where the factory recovery hook is meant to be.
Your welcome to have a look at mine sometime as your just up the road :)

Re: muskie
my captive plate has 3 nuts..of course the arb mounts could differ to my tjm ones. Mine the outer tabs go inside the chassis rail where the original bumper irons go an have nuts attached and bolt thru the original bumper holes, the inner tabs go on the outside of the chassis rail and bolt thru the 3 holes there, which is where my captive plate is as only the drivers side has the nuts already in the chassis.
Maybe of some help
