The only thing i could see as being a drawback is they weigh about double an electric winch.

If you find a cheap way to set enough flow to run one, let me know

Lots of hydraulics on fire engines  :) one thing the heavier the load the slower it goes but it will tow you and anything you hook up to you to wherever it is hooked up to, most dozers and heavy machinery use hydraulic but if used a lot you could want an oil cooler somewhere to not cook the oil.

I also don't think there is a brake on the winch either, well wasn't one on the old ones I was looking at for the tractor to pull stuff to the batch we were in.

Hi ,I dont know much about that brand but nearly all the Comp trucks out there that are running Hyd winches are useing the Superwinch ones,I dont know if they were chosen for their speed or the reliability factor but most of them are around the 300ft a min underload,,these guys have spent sh#t loads of time and money researhing this and have ironed out most of the bugs i would suggest you get hold of someone like Wayne (mudzilla) and have a talk to him about his set up.Hes running a Superwinch with a 12m rope and his motto is the "Trees the Weakest link"..Cheers
