My ride was Vern Britain with a 1997 Jeep. He was a great guy who told me heaps about the history of the area. He showed me the different places they go wheeling, such as Devils canyon. Also showed me the old sheep pens that the early settlers used to heard the sheep in. The scenery is amazing and the mountains are just rocks and more rocks.
The area where the Bronco trail is is a big open out door park. You can take your motorcyle, 4wd, bicycle whatever with no cost. There are planty of area's in California that are free to people to use whenever they want for no cost. Wish we had that.
We started off with 6 trucks. The White jeep, Blue Jeep and verns jeep (red) went through the first obstacle with relative ease. Next up was nother highly modified jeep. followed by a standard jeep and a Ford bronco at the end. Bob, the driver of the white jeep said to the others that the standard jeep shouldnt go through and it will break and its just plain stupidity. The persisted so we set off and left the last three trucks to it.
We did have to use a strap on some of the obstacles to stop them rolling over. they are pretty careless with whinch cables. At one point it was connected to the blue jeep to the red jeep and people were just walking over it, even at times with some tension on it. It was crazy. So i just stood out of the way and let them do it. Crazy Americans.
Then on our way out we saw a tow truck heading up to the mountains. i wonder who that was for?

The red and white jeeps run dyna 60 diffs front and rear, the red jeep is tandard power as is the white one. The red jeep has 8inch lift springs in the front and 6 inch in the rear as he carries pretty much everything spare; drive shafts, pitman arms, axels, brake cables and everything else pretty much. The red jeep also has a 11.34:1 rock crawling ratio and the transfer case can be selected for 4wd, FWD or RWD. Arb air lockers and arb compressor. 35inch tyres. i think from memory.
well I got quite a few photos so here they are, as I said I would post them up.
By the way this is a "mild" course and to that I said to myself "what the f**k!!!???" So now I am looking foward to the next trip, which should be in cooler weather as it will be in winter soon enough. So I wont get quite so sunburnt.
cheers
