Hi guys, a mate has asked me if i could do a 2" body lift on a 84 ln60 surf.
It has 10 body mounts and i was wondering what all else i would have to do to lift it up this high. All comments and advice welcome as i haven't had anything to do with surf's before.
1984 ln60 surf body lift
Pretty standard body lift - same for 65-series hilux ute and 61-series IFS surf (and 130-series 5-door for that matter)
10 blocks, 50 or 60mm dia (I always use 60mm) UHMWPE or aluminium rod, bored with 10mm hole for M10 8.8 bolt and HT nylock nut.
Loosen and let the steering driveshaft from the firewall to the steering box slacken a bit or the rubber disc UJ gets stretched.
trim the fan shroud at the bottom, or remove it - or go electric fan
check the filler and breather hose to the fuel tank doesn't stretch itself off.
check the handbrake cable from the firewall doesn't stretch too tight
check the clutch hose doesnt get too stretched.
don't forget to undo the two bolts at the ends of the plastic bumper corners (1 each side) before doing it or you'll rip them off
Can't think of anything else... its pretty straight forward. Give me a shout if you have any problems
Cheers

Dont forget the brake lines (body to chassis)
They are coiled so should be okay just keep an eye on them and dont stretch them too much.
Loosen both sides first, lift one side at a time( get it bolted loosely) and then do the other side. Cheack measure from chassis to panels on both sides befor and after lift to check its sitting square.
Do this all on dead flat ground so there is no twisting in the chassis or the squeak will drive you mad (I learned the hard way)
