My turn ....

The LEXPOS went back for a WOF recheck this morning and passed, then I headed up to the autosparky in UHutt, who was unable to give me an idea on costs or a quote guess its a matter of dropping it off and then finding out (it needs sorting anyway) , saw SIG on the way up and had to stop into Robs in the way there to figure out why the dash and indicators suddenly died, has started to blow fuses.

On road its a bit of a handful compared to the old POS, the exaust just howls at the right revs...., may not be ready for a drive up to CostaPlenty and back as its unreliable due to the wiring.

Thanks to Taz and Reece coming round helping me sort out the brakes....

Got my new drop boxes form DaveM, delivered via 4wdnuts. Will fit them over the weekend and hopefully it will stop the whale wandering. Always interesting to have it wander lanes on the highway and you have to indicated as if it was a planned move

im starting the weeks upgrades and repairs this arvo,currently at work.... have all new rear suspension bushes to fit and removing my front snowplow... then refit my bash guard, maybe do a oil change, and see why i cant open the drivers door....

had a drive to hamilton to 4wd fibreglass to pickup rear doors for james 's 40, a nice guy steve whitton is

also cut my winch cable down from 40 mtres to 30 metres ,ie less raps on the drum more pull power

Removed the wiper control arms (F'ing stupid studs with a nut on them), lets just say I wont want to do it again and if you plan on doing this get a small set of vice grips and have thin long arms (double jointed elbows and wrists are optional).

Decided to remove the plastic crap on the firewall with the fibre backing - oh dear, look at the rust. Looks like I will be cutting and riveting in small bits of steel here and there. And start saving for a new body (does mean that this one can get a caning and I wont care) I guess. Will get some rust converter and at least slow the cancer down I suppose.

Sorted all my spare parts I dont need and put them in the back of the ute for drop off to there new owner and cleaned off the new ali mags (two piece by the looks of them - dont know if that will be good or not yet (hope they will take internal beadlocks, if not they will be up for sale)). Have a couple of road tyres to get rid of (215/75/15) also if anyone want them for the cost of removing them from the rims (about $20 all up IIRC) give me a PM.

Can anyone confirm that ali rims require a different wheel nut to the steel ones?

Shifted the wiring for the fuel pump (finally) so it runs through the body and not through the cab footwell and removed the anti-sway bar (and now realise I need a bar or bash guard there to protect the diff - bugger, another job).

Started and ran the beast just to make sure it still works.

Might fit the other guards I have and start marking them up for cutting on Sunday or maybe measure out the new cable for the battery relocation. An oil change and cooling flush is also on the cards.

Also had a bit of a wandering problem just like Curly when out on the open road. Due to the castor being near enough to zero after a suspension lift.
Luckily Land Rovers have their swivel balls bolted to the diff housing. By slotting the bolt holes by 4mm I am able to rotate the swivel balls through about 5 degrees to restore some much needed castor.
Will bolt it all back together tomorrow and see if and how much improvement this has made.

Been at work today, but off for a play tomorrow with Ron. Might even if i remember take photos. Both Ron and I are off to try out our new tyres

had to work this morning, but went round to Sigs afterwards to play BBQ chef for the boys and do some camera work and video of the install of Sadams new motor.

was sitting on sadams roof listening to Jerrys POS getting a thrashing up and down the road.

now Abbo is a very excited boy

saw an upset curly climb out from under his truck for the last time

helped a couple of times here and there

saw sadams headers glowing a beautiful shade of red







and then to top off a cruisy day theres nothing better than cruising down the road following other 4wds with nice wide feet and seeing other folks staring at the convoy and listening to the sweet sound of a purring lexus V8.

Na, not upset, just cold and fluey and bit pissed that the drop boxes didn't fit. But will sort on Monday and trim some meat off the spaces and it will all be good

put the trans from the g onto my donor motor and then started measuring and figuring and measuring some more and figuring some more while i worked out the engine mount brackets

well i had lili on saturday and she was all happy so we when of a little drive.

we ended up at the worsley track, now its been a while since i've been there but man its changed. got about 1/4 the way up on my own before it got a little to ruff for my back seat driver. she was busy talking away so it was a good little trip for her.

mite have to plan a walk up there soon and then plan a drive to the top.

its rough yes but it can be done- we took ricks (4wdacc) jeep and my thing up there on saturday. one flat tire and two times use of snatch strap, and body damage unavoidable

Did very little offroad but did manage to get myself suck. Was driving a short section of the Ashley late last night and was backing up to get a better view of a bank I was going to go down when all of a sudden my backend dropped Ended up on a steep angle with the back in a water/soft shingle/mud hole . My wee shovel did a mighty job but no match for the amount of shingle needed to be moved. It was out in the open river (and my cell battery was flat) but I found a large pile of debris and wrapped my winch cable around it and managed to winch up, waiting at any moment for my 4inch nail sheer pin to snap.

Lovely moonlit night for it tho.

A great end to an otherwise good weekend!!

forest run, and i hit the biggest branch that was hanging down that i didnt see

Not always, some alloy rims use the standard bevelled wheelnuts (eg. factory Suzuki alloys), just have to look and see what type of seat is recessed into the wheels.
