Offroad-Express

Does anyone here on ORE know of a good intercom system for on or offroad communication between helmets?

This is one i know of but haven't tried.
I'd be grateful for any help.

do you want wired or wireless.if wired i,ve got a near new set i bought when trialing but never used

Just use you VOC on your hand held PRS, you just have to remember to activate it before you send your message

Have a look at some marine sites. They have developed some wireless ones in the past few years that are designed to cut out back ground noise and work in adverse conditions.

What I want them for is for communication between road bike to road bike or rider to passenger. Quad bike to quad bike. I'd like a wireless setup. The simplest the better. I'm not bothered with music or cell phone additions. Pure communication. As for communicating between trucks I'm sorted there. I have a couple of hand held radios.

My hand held PRS came with head phones and a voice activated thingi, simple plug it in and it works fine, why do you need anything else

They may not fit under helmuts or handle strong windy conditions.
The set I used last year on a cook strait crossing worked a treat in rough weather, I could hear the person at the bow abusing me at the helm quite nicely. Wasn't my fault the anchor had fallen off the bow and was busy trying to reshape the front of the boat, or that we were in a 5m swell with 35knot winds

The problem with communicating on a bike at speed is wind noise. I've hear of some setups that have wind canceling mics that reduce the noise considerably. I was wondering if someone else here had brought a system that they are happy with.

noise cancellation is actually quite easy to do basically wire up 2 microphones out of phase have one facing your mouth and the other set to pick up the background noise
