hey thought someone here may know something about the electric 4wd on the 3.0lt turbo 1kz-te transfer. i've just finished transplanting the eng & box into my double cab. swapped full loom 4wd comp inc. and tested it in the drive way and drove round in fwd while the rear shaft was getting lengthened the went up worsleys today and all went well till i got to the top and got stuck crossing some ruts and realized that the 4wd had disengaged and would not re-engage . so i shut off the engine to see if i could hear the actuator moving when i press the 4wd button and there was nothing. just wondering if i need to trick the computer into thinking the front diff is engaged or if something is faulty
hi im having similar problems in a friends hilux. its a 99 3.0td have checked the vacume solinoids under the bonnet found that only the out one has power on it all the time, button in or out. have removed the 4wd computer and im trying to find another on to compare/ test with.
has any one else had troubles with this?? anything else to look at??
